Dealers really want your used ride OREGON, Ohio (WUPW) - Used cars are in such high demand these days that dealerships are trying new tactics to get your organisation. One of the more traditional ways for car dealerships to bring in used-cars is through an auction, but Becerra said auction prices have gone up significantly since the start of 2012. High priced auctions have lead to a whole new way to fill lots. "We're talking, on average, probably a 15-20 percent increase in market value for the customer," Bacerra said. It could mean more money in your pocket or it could go towards a brand new vehicle, if you make a decision to trade one in. Based off of popular trends, certain vehicle lines are in higher demand than others. "Based on inventories, our average is about 200-250 used cars," said John Becerra, General Sales Manager with Matthews Ford in Oregon. The personalized mailers are proving to be a success and consumers are taking advantage, either trading up for a newer car, or just walking away with the cash. "The auction prices have gone up 10-15 percent in the last 3-4 months so that's why we go to the consumer," he said. If they decide to go into a newer car, sometimes even higher than that. |
