Women driving vehicle sales for Cairns group The multi-franchise dealer has a record number of female sales staff with six at their city and Earlville locations. Ms Wilson said she enjoyed selling cars. "It's good that we have been able to provide a more balanced sales team," Mr Wilson said. He said clients enjoyed dealing with women. Ms Leong said meeting new and different people every day was a highlight of the job. Mr Wilson said lately women had been attracted to selling cars and provided good customer care with attention to detail and diligence. "When I came here three and a fifty percent years ago there wasn't one female sales consultant in an industry dominated by men," he said. "But best of all, seeing the look and excitement on your customer's face as they come to pick up their new car," she said. Together they have more than 30 years' experience in car sales and have been at Trinity from one month to seven years. "I try my hardest everyday to outshine them," she said. Ms Grounsell said she liked being a female in a male-dominated industry. They are Suzuki sales manager Ro Wilson and Suzuki sales consultant Rebecca Jackson, Hyundai sales consultant Clare Grounsell, southside aftercare manager Dominique Rolland, city aftercare manager Selina Leong and used aftercare consultant Teagen Brutton. Trinity Southside general manager Simon Wilson said he believed it was a record to have six female sales staff. Ms Jackson said no day was the same. The group has about 20 salesmen and women selling 300 vehicles a month across 13 brands together with used vehicles. "It's always great to see the excitement on someone's face when they drive off in their new car," she said. "That is what I enjoy most. |
