Used dealers benefit from extended warranty offer
"Used car customers have been seeing their buying power diminish for some time as stock shortages have pushed up prices and this general trend, if anything, has accelerated in 2012," he commented. Mr Simpson believes that a stronger warranty goes some way to providing a "financial safety net" for buyers who may be wary over a car's history and it was vital for dealers to have a good grasp of the common customer's psychology when unemployment is high and the available selection of cars doesn't quite meet their expectation. He added: "An important element in this used car decision making process will be the belief that a vehicle is unlikely to deliver any nasty financial surprises and an extended warranty is the best way of achieving this. "It is a trend that shows no signs of abating and, alongside a general new car market move towards longer warranties, means that customers now desire a very comprehensive level of used car warranty cover. |
